Stotts have been supplying the NSW and Queensland (QLD) Coal Mines with Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) Equipment for 20 years. We are now pleased to realease our new range of Intrinsically Safe Lasers IEC EX ia Certified for Group I - Coal, and Group II -other Hazardous Areas, such as Oil and Gas and Chemical Plants Ex ia I/IIC T3 IP55

Intrinsically Safe Lasers

I.S. Lasers are currently available in four module each with its own features and benifits:

  • LD-25 - Powered by AA Batteries - 150 M Range - with RED Beam
  • LD-35 - Powered by C Batteries - 150 M Range - with RED Beam
  • LD-35-G - Powered by C Batteries - 200 M Range - with GREEN Beam
  • LD-60 - Powered by D Batteries - 300 M Range - with RED Beam

LD-25 Intrinsically Safe Laser

This is the smallest laser in our new range. The LD25 is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser. LD-25 The smallest I.S. Laser we produce. Designed to fit into the older Hexagonal Designed mounts. This smallest I.S. Laser (LD-25X-635P) is designed to be used up to 125 metres.

The LD-25 Intrinsically Safe Laser Features:

  • Light Weight
  • Well Protected in Metal Housing (Stainless Steel Outer body with Brass Inserts at each end)
  • Round design which has been rolled so the laser can be rotated without moving the beam
  • Push ON / OFF Switch at rear, is recessed into the Battery Retainer for Physical Protection
  • Certainty of Support, Repair & Parts from a long established company with team of Engineers.
  • Powered by 2 AA-size primary cell Powercell type PC15AU
  • Reverse battery protection which prevents any connection if batteries are inserted incorrectly
  • Classified Class 2M alignment laser system
  • Range up to 125 metres.
  • Made in Australia

LD-35 - Intrinsically Safe Laser

This is the middle sized laser in our new range. The LD35 is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser. LD-35 Improving on the Older SLX we paid to have certified as IEC EX ia I/IIB 136 Deg C, to be SIM 09-0005. This new LD-35 I.S. Laser has a longer range and Longer Battery Life, than that SLX. The LD-35X Laser is designed to allow it's use in longer pillars up to 150 metres, when supplied with RED Beam. The LD-35X Laser is designed to allow it's use in longer pillars up to 200 metres, when supplied with GREEN Beam.

  • Single Unit, removing all the earlier models issues with Battery Connections
  • AVAILABLE IN CHOICE OF COLOURS - RED or GREEN
  • 7 day Battery Life (Red) to allow controlled change at Weekly Intervals
  • 3 day Battery Life (Green) due to the less Efficient Green Laser Diode.
  • RATED IEC Ex ia I/IIC T3 when powered by Powercell PC14AU
  • RATED IEC Ex ia I/IIC T4 when powered by Panasonic LR14XW
  • Class 2M Laser
  • IP Rated at - IP55

LD-60 - Intrinsically Safe Laser

LD-60 The now Undergound Coal mining Standard laser. To IECExia SIM 11.0003 The LD-60 Laser is designed to allow it's use in the longest pillars up to 300 metres. Single Unit, removing all the earlier models issues with Battery Connections. This is the largest laser in our new range. The LD60 is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser. This is now the Coal Mining Industry STANDARD, with more than 150 units in service in NSW and Queensland underground coal mines. The quality of this laser has been built into the now smaller LD25 and LD35 Lasers detailed above.

ROUTINE SERVICE MONITOR

Routine Service Monitor

This Unit is an older model designed to record hours of Machinery Operation, and advise operators of the requirement to service. The Unit is supplied in a Flameproof Housing, and can be reset by means of a magnet (available as a spare part) so that the unit does not need to be opened. Still in service in Underground Coal Mines.
